The FENS contract will be the primary means through which the FAA will obtain these services. The FENS Program will acquire telecommunications services, information management services (to support the FAA's System Wide Information Management data distribution capability), and specialized services such as Domain Name Service ( DNS), time synchronization services, and enterprise-wide security solutions. The successor program, FAA Enterprise Network Services is targeting the award of one or more long-term contracts by early 2023 to begin the transition from FTI.įAA Enterprise Network Services Program is proceeding with plans for a competitive acquisition that will provide highly available and secure communications, information services, and networking capabilities required to support National Airspace System ( NAS) operations and agency administration functions. In 2013, the FAA announced its intent to extend the contract on a single source basis to allow time for transition to FENS.
